TMC filed a complaint with the Election Commission against the BJP for distributing 'Matri Shakti Bharosha Card' ahead of the West Bengal polls. TMC said BJP leaders launched the scheme, promising financial assistance to women and distributed forms across constituencies. “We demand immediate discontinuation of the scheme, BJP cannot buy Bengal's women. They do not need BJP's bribe," TMC said.

While speaking on women's quota in Parliament, PM Narendra Modi recalled how over 30 years ago, women were easily granted reservations in Panchayats because MPs "didn't fear losing their positions". "Lakhs of women who've worked at the Panchayat level are agitated...They are now demanding to be a part of the decision-making process in state assemblies and the Parliament," he added.

PM Narendra Modi on Thursday accused Opposition of raising "technical points and excuses" to delay the women's reservation bill. "They had no courage to openly oppose 33% reservation for women...So they would use technical excuse," he added. PM Modi said the issue had remained stalled for nearly three decades without progress and urged all parties to support it now.

Speaking on Women’s Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha, PM Narendra Modi said it would help 50% of population become part of policymaking. He said this move is not just in favour of one political party but in favour of democracy. “If we stand together, history will remember us...It's an opportunity to add a new chapter to Viksit Bharat,” he added.

PM Narendra Modi, speaking during the discussion on the Women's Reservation Bill, appealed that the Bill should not be weighed on the scale of politics. "Across different fields, women are doing remarkable work and excelling everywhere," he said. "When they have such immense potential, why are we spending so much energy trying to deny them their rightful participation?" he added.

Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut defended calling Congress leader Rahul Gandhi “tapori”. "I have respect for everybody. But I cannot pretend unnecessarily to put a crown on his head, which he doesn't deserve. Why should I glorify him?" she said. Ranaut added the jiu-jitsu analogy Gandhi used in Parliament, with terms like “grip” and “choke”, made women uncomfortable.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at government during discussion of Women's Reservation Bill saying, "BJP trying to make 'nari' (women)...into a 'nara' (slogan)." He added while referring to RSS, "The ones who never kept women in their organisation...I ask how many women are in that...organisation?" He also demanded that OBC and Muslim women will be given reservation.

Speaking in Lok Sabha on Thursday, PM Narendra Modi thanked Samajwadi Party's MP Dharmendra Yadav. In a video, PM Modi could be heard saying, "Dharmendra ji, I'm very grateful to you for introducing me. It's true...I come from an extremely backward section of society, but my responsibility is to take everyone along." "For me, the Constitution is supreme," he added.

While speaking on Women's Reservation Bill, PM Narendra Modi asked the Opposition to take the credit for the bill. "We don't want credit. You pass the bill, I will publish an advertisement using government money and put pictures of Opposition leaders of your choice," he said. PM Modi further said he is offering Opposition a "blank cheque of credit".

Uttar Pradesh government issued a statement saying that 45 of the 66 people arrested over the Noida unrest are not workers, pointing to the role of "external elements" in inciting violence and arson during the protests. It added authorities acted swiftly to foil what it described as a well-planned conspiracy to create disorder under the guise of labour protests.
