The Centre informed the Supreme Court that Ladakh activist Sonam Wangchuk, who was detained under the National Security Act, cannot be released on medical grounds. "We've examined 24 times...He is fit...He had some digestive issues, and he is being treated for that," the government said. He was detained on September 26, 2025, after violent protests demanding statehood status for Ladakh.
